I preached at church recently from Isaiah 11:12. The Bible says: "He will raise up a signal."
That is what Jesus is. He is a signal to us...a signal is something that shows us "something."
God raised Jesus up as a signal...to show us salvation. The way to salvation. A way for us to get rescued from our sin.
You don't have to believe that Jesus is a sign or a signal. That is up to you. But, the facts are clear. Jesus is the only way to get to heaven.
I praise God He sent us a signal. A signal that He wanted to have a personal relationship with us. His signal to us was Jesus. A signal that became our Savior.
Merry Christmas! Let's celebrate the life of the Savior. And remember daily His plan of hope and love for us...that is to save us.
Let's face it. It's human nature for us to wonder...to ask questions. Why...what?
Everyone in their life wonders. "Why are we here?" "How is it possible for there to be life?" "Is there a God?"
It would be nice if we would get all the answers in a neat little handout at birth. If we have any questions as we grow and mature we could just refer to it.
I don't propose to hold all the answers. But, I do know that I have the answer to the question "Is there a God?"
Most importantly, I can share with you the One that has those answers. That's is Jesus, God's Son.
Yes, there is a God. And He is speaking to you. Right now as a matter of fact. Maybe you aren't hearing Him clearly. But, He is still there. Speaking and talking to you.
And waiting...waiting to have a personal relationship with you through His Son, Jesus.
Just ask. He will come to you. He will save you. Ask Him to forgive you. Ask Him to be your Savior.
You might get a lot of gifts this year for Christmas. God can give you the best gift you will ever get. And once you get it. I know you will want to give it away. Share it with others.
The gift or forgiveness...is a prayer away. Pray now to accept Jesus as your Savior.
Maybe like Jesus, you could give the gift of forgiveness. In not only sharing God's message of hope and salvation. But, in giving a gift...everyday.
Give...forgiveness to others. To those who have "wronged" you. To those who have hurt you.
Jesus will come and forgive and save. He will be your answer to whatever you need and to whatever questions you have.
Starting now. Let's live and give forgiveness. It's God's model of peace.
